Angelina Jolie Leaves Fans Stunned As She Gets Covered In Hundreds Of Bees For 18 minutes To Raise Awareness On Bee Conservation - PICS Inside
On 'World Bee Day,' Angelina Jolie did a photo shoot for National Geographic. Much to everyone's surprise, the actress posed for the magazine while covered in hundreds of bees. By doing so, Angelina Jolie hopes to raise awareness of bee conservation. As one can see, Angelina is dressed in a white, off-shoulder Gabriela Hearst dress. A swarm of bees sit around her shoulders and chest and a few are also seen on her face.

As revealed by photographer Dan Winters, the actress had to sit with the bees on her body for almost eighteen minutes. 'I'm a beekeeper, and when I was given the assignment to work with Angelina, my main concern was safety. Shooting during the pandemic, with a full crew and live bees, made the execution complex. And I knew the only way to ensure we achieved the desired effect for the photo was to use the same technique that Richard Avedon used 40 years ago to create his iconic beekeeper portrait,' shared Dan Winters.

He further revealed that everyone on set, except Angelina, had to be in a protective suit. 'I applied the pheromone in the places on her body where I wanted bees to congregate. They are attracted to the pheromone, but it also encourages them not to swarm. Angelina stood perfectly still, covered in bees for 18 minutes without a sting,' added Dan.

The stunning actress has been designated as the 'Godmother' for Women for Bees by UNESCO and Guerlain to train and support female beekeeper-entrepreneurs around the world. In her interview with National Geographic, Angelina said that she has six kids and that she is not perfect at anything but saving the bees is something one can do for the future generation with the help of their kids.
